Allelopathic Interactions of Solanum stramonifolium Jacq. Might Be Used for Meloidogyne incognita Management

چکیده
The root-knot nematode (RKN) Meloidogyne incognita infects a large host range causing enormous agricultural losses. Although the control of this pest is mainly based on use chemical pesticides, natural alternatives are currently being largely considered, especially plant-derived molecules, as allelochemicals and plant extracts. Solanum stramonifolium Solanaceae family has been studied for its potential to RKN, either by aqueous extracts seeds, or due immunity penetration. Our studies demonstrate that S. an efficient defense mechanism against RKN completely preventing penetration into root system. Additionally, compounds exuded in soil can affect infection nearby grown Nicotiana benthamiana (-89% biomass treatment I respectively, -61% +57% galls treatments lycopersicum (-79% I, -83% II). Herein, external (ED, < 3.5 kDa) internal (ID, > dialysates were prepared from extract seeds. Arabidopsis thaliana Col-0 inoculated with treated showed reduced gall diameter 45% 35% ED ID respectively. significant reduction was observed germinated seeds after ID. In addition, roots changes their ploidy levels when ID, compared untreated control, indicating effect endoreduplicating cells. Finally, partial identification glycoalkaloids present may help explain infection. Results obtained shed light mechanisms M. incognita, allelopathic co-cultivated plants biotechnological representing strong alternative management conventional agriculture.

Stability of resistance to Meloidogyne incognita (Kofoid &White) Chitwood was determined in pepper (Capsicum chinense Jacq. and C. annuum L.) at 24, 28, and 32 degrees C. Reactions of the C. annuum cultivars Charleston Belle and Keystone Resistant Giant and the C. chinense cultigens PA-426 and PA-350 to M. incognita were compared. Charleston Belle is homozygous for the N gene that confers resis...
متن کاملSpatial and Temporal Interactions of Meloidogyne incognita and Soybean.
The spatial and temporal dynamics of Meloidogyne incognita, relative to soybean shoot and root growth in field microplots, were determined at 11 sampling dates during a growing season. The population dynamics of M. incognita on soybean were dependent on initial population (Pi), soil moisture, and root spatial distribution. Final egg and juvenile population densities were greatest in plots with ...

متن کاملBehavior of Tethered Meloidogyne incognita.
The tethered-nematode technique was adapted for use with second-stage juveniles of Meloidogyne incognita. The data demonstrate that M. incognita exhibits the same patterns of behavior as adults of the free-living nematode, Caenorhabditis elegans. The principal differences are that M. incognita is slower and less regular in its behavior than C. elegans. The frequency of normal waves is about 0.2...
